About the event

Nourish your body, mind, and spirit in a monthly full moon ritual with your San Diego sisters. Grab your cup and join us for tea as we build community through thoughtfully guided discussion, and then join together for a yoga flow and guided meditation designed to deepen understanding of and personal connections to the book's themes. Each book is hand-picked to spark conversation and critical thought around empowering and complex feminine topics. All women and femme folk welcome! The discussion will be based on the book's themes, so no need complete the book in advance in order to fully participate :)

All meetings will take place in person in San Diego and include a one hour discussion on the book, followed by a one hour guided gentle yoga flow. We encourage you to dress in layers, as it may get chilly. All sessions are facilitated by Randall, a certified yoga instructor and local community college professor who holds a PhD in mythology and depth psychology. Find us at Bird Park by entering on 28th and Thorn, near the swings.

We bring: the tea, hot water, and conversation.

You bring: your cup, yoga mat, and thoughts.

March's book is Starling House by Alix E. Harrow. Part gothic haunted house, part fairy tale, we will explore themes of home, love, and family through the main character, Opal. Opal is a lot of things—orphan, high school dropout, full-time cynic and part-time cashier—but above all, she's determined to find a better life for her younger brother Jasper. One that gets them out of Eden, Kentucky, a town remarkable for only two things: bad luck and E. Starling, the reclusive nineteenth century author of The Underland, who disappeared over a hundred years ago.
