About the event
Pre and postpartum bodies are growing, shifting, and changing and can sometimes feel unfamiliar. Pilates is a great way to find a mind-body connection and restore your sense of self. Pilates is a low-impact style workout that works for every body. This 32-exercise mat pilates routine is a beginner-accessible introduction to Pilates, while also providing a challenging class for more advanced students through strength, flexibility, and mobility. Ashley, of Ashley Michelle Fitness in San Diego, will break it all down into parts and make it accessible for beginners. From there, she will offer both progressions and modifications so folks can up the ante or dial back respectively.

Joseph Pilates created a workout routine he called Contrology. It was originally performed on an apparatus called the reformer. Later, Joseph developed the mat routine which Ashley will break down and share with you in a progressive, all-levels mat pilates class. If you’re looking for a low-impact, effective, yet minimal style of Pilates, this class is for you! You can take your mat on-the-go when you travel or use it at home or outdoors. This makes your workout accessible even when you can’t get to the studio...because you know, parenthood.
